"There are patients in serious conditions. Most are elderly with other underlying diseases, but the rule is not 100%: there are also some young people in intensive care, but now I don't know how many." (HANDLE)

(ANSA) - MILAN, FEBRUARY 29 - "There are patients with severe conditions. Most are elderly with other underlying diseases, but the rule is not 100%: there are also some young people in intensive care, but now I don't know how many". Angelo Pan, the director of the ASS Infectious Diseases Unit of Cremona, said this to ANSA, explaining that in his medical hospital infected with the coronavirus "fortunately they are not now.
Unfortunately, however, it will happen for sure, this virus is five times ferocious of Sars but the medical staff in contact is at risk ".
Already yesterday, in the meeting in the Lombardy Region, Pan shared the need to extend the limitations. "So maybe, instead of having a thousand patients in three weeks, we will have 800 in 12 and the system will be able to handle the issue. Thousands of patients were not together," noted ilmedico, who is also president of Simpios (Italian Multidisciplinary Society for the prevention of infections in health organizations).
