The final crew group that was still on board the Diamond Princess, including the Italian commander Gennaro Arma, completed the procedures for disembarking from the ship on Sunday. The Japanese authorities said so, explaining that healthy crew members had started to be released on Thursday and the last 130 people went down yesterday. Among them, around 70 Indonesian citizens who were repatriated on a charter plane from the Jakarta government. The rest of the people will be quarantined in specialized hospital centers located in Saitama, north of Tokyo, and will be allowed to leave Japan after two weeks if they are found to be negative for coronavirus. During the period in which the ship was moored in Yokohama, from February 5, 705 of the slightly more than 3,700 passengers and crew members tested positive and transferred to the appropriate facilities. Japanese Health Minister Katsunobu Kato, in thanking Commander Arma, said the ship will be disinfected and will remain anchored in Yokohama for a period of maintenance.
