The explosion occurred Friday, March 6, late morning, in front of the American embassy in Tunis. The two attackers, who died in the assault, arrived on a motorbike and set off their explosive charge in front of the police who protected the diplomatic representation. One of them died, and four other officers were injured, the interior ministry said.
The last attack in the capital dates back to June 2019. The country, which had been the target of deadly attacks in 2015 and 2016, has been in a state of emergency for five years.
