In recent years, we have been exposed to welcome initiatives by women, working for women in various fields. International Women's Day is a great time to appreciate their activities, and on the way to get some inspiration.

During the year, the biotic Guilty site, run by Michal Elbaz, joined for women in various activities, and on Women's Day in a wider activity. "This year, I decided to hold a mentoring event to raise awareness and discourse on female empowerment in Netivot and the surrounding area. When I approached a committee to promote women's status and the Netivot community, they did not believe I wanted to raise an event for about 600 women, which will include unique panels, influential lectures and public opinion on issues. Ability to develop among women, of course volunteering.

On the motivation to lift an event of this magnitude, she says: "It is important to me that women, and especially the young women, know that it is possible to develop and succeed, and to hear about the successes of women that empower. Every woman who decides to make an impact can grow wings for herself and others. More power. "

Fashion and entrepreneurial blogger Luba Jacobson is currently working for women on two levels. She has recruited leading restaurant owners and chefs to cook special dishes, which in April proceeds from their sales will be passed on to support at-risk girls. In addition, from March 26 to March 28, Jacobson is organizing a fashion event in Tel Aviv Port, where luxury second-hand items will be sold from the offices of business women and influential women, all proceeds from which will be sold to assist at-risk girls.

"Last year I went to visit the Ruth House in the North, where girls at risk are aged 13-28. I left feeling that I had to help rehabilitate them. I collected about NIS 100,000 for summer activities for girls, from the sale of second-hand clothing items to 70 women "This year I recruited more than 130 women who open the closet and donate quality clothing to help girls," Jacobson says.

A woman for childbirth

Another women's project for women is Maternity Pots, which is held in almost every city or local council, where the community women bring food and their family food in the first month after birth. Natalie Yussinger Lieberman, who heads such a project at the Tel Aviv Parenting Center in Tel Aviv, says this is an informal project that was born out of the community, word of mouth.

"Once you gave birth back home, the neighbors and the surrounding area came to help. In recent years, life and work outside the home have kept women away from what was customary. Women's initiatives have restored the custom, and today it exists in several cities across the country. Career-minded women and those who volunteer and dedicate their private time "And they are going to be happy giving birth for a month and bringing her home food. It is not a child that she needs and not girls who are cared for by the Ministry of Welfare, it is more the mental support and mutual guarantee. The project brings us back to the community and to a good neighbor."

And if, at her birth, Super Pharm recently launched a baby clothing collection up to the age of one year called "Take Me Home," created by Minana in collaboration with Eleanor Kupler. Some of the proceeds are being donated as a donation to LA (non-violence), which operates shelters for battered women across the country. The project is still ongoing and is a success, and is expected to continue with a summer collection.

"Maternity illuminated my life and made me re-evaluate women, and from there the project was born," says Kupler. "When I visited the battered women's shelter of L.A., I felt an instant connection, and I discovered strong and inspiring women who, despite all the difficulties they went through, carry with them messages of Hope. When I came out with Take Me Home, the project took on more significance for those women and their children at the shelter. "

According to her, after the launch at the battered women's shelter, communication women continue to contribute to the toys, clothing, etc. "It shows women's doing for women how it unfolds and empowers, which is a bigger effect than my project and it's amazing," says Kupler.

Besides Kupler's project, SuperParm has a digital platform called "everyBody" that was developed together with the Interdisciplinary Center and allows women to test their body perception. In May, SuperPrem's Life RUN women's race will be held in cooperation with the Tel Aviv-Jaffa municipality for the fifth year. "EveryBody can reach hundreds of thousands of women and give them a real opportunity to reshape and change their body image, and that should raise awareness and discourse," says Gali Berger, head of communications and content at Super Pharm. "Life RUN" is an event that is all about female camaraderie and fun, which appeals to all women, all ages and all levels of fitness. It is important for us to work for women's sports as it was important to us for the "Take Me Home" project.

Kupler and Berger point out that women need to be supported even though women today have more status and position. "Women today talk more about postpartum depression and less hiding, but we're still in the fight for equality and there's a lot more work to do."

The road goes a long way

Despite all the best, the question is whether these projects are needed in 2020. The top of Hershko, the woman-to-woman coordinator, points out that although the organization was founded in 1983, it is still relevant, as it is essential to work for women's equal rights in Israeli society and the fight against violence. Towards women is still needed. "We hold lectures and workshops that are open to women, promote various projects for women against government policies related to medical rights, education, etc." She said the organization is working to create a female leadership group to work together with different bodies. "We are not leading the struggles, we are helping women in the community come together to solve an overall problem. We are there to help and also help independent women who are facing sexual harassment at work, divorce issues, etc."

Hershko believes that the state is not doing enough for women, and therefore women's initiatives for women are emerging. "Unfortunately, women for women still need that, because the world is still run by male power. We are discriminated against by the rabbinate, there is still sexual and physical violence and women's murder, we are discriminated against in terms of pay, so we have to fight, and when women unite, they succeed and achieve change. "The organization will remain until we are no longer needed, which does not seem to happen any time soon."
