Four members of one Samaritan family were diagnosed with Corona virus yesterday (two). If the family is caring for a residence in the locality, and the 33 toddlers in the residence were placed in solitary confinement after consulting with the Ministry of Health.

Samaritan Regional Council Chairman Yossi Dagan convened an emergency meeting in the Yishuv during the night with the council's professional staff and the leadership of the Yishuv to examine the implications. During the emergency meeting, Dagan spoke with Deputy Director of Public Health at the Ministry of Health Udi Kaminer.

In coordination with the Ministry of Health this morning, a letter was issued to residents explaining the complex situation and asking anyone who had been in contact with family members, including the entire nursery class which includes about 33 toddlers and all the caregivers to enter the isolation. The Ministry of Health wanted to know which of the community was staying abroad before February 20 to identify the source of the infection.

Up to this moment, about 100 members of the settlement have been isolated and the number is expected to rise. It was decided in consultation with the rabbi of the community to cancel all Purim events in the settlement, but to allow the other institutions to operate normally

"We are in a complex and delicate situation and difficult days ahead of us," said Yossi Dagan, head of Samaria Regional Council. Meanwhile, Fouria Hospital reported that the condition of the bus driver with Corona is improving. However, he is still in a difficult position. According to a spokesperson for the medical center, there are laboratory signs that indicate a benefit. Currently, the number of infected persons in Israel currently stands at 50.
