Untraceable masks during the coronavirus emergency. A protocol authorizing the production in Italy of non-health masks for citizens and non-health workers is being prepared by the government. The material is already authorized by the scientific committee. Rules could come that facilitate their production in our country .

The head of civil protection Angelo Borrelli announces the possibility of converting structures for the production of masks. "Unfortunately we do not currently have a national production because in the past it was considered low margin for economic operators and therefore we now have the consequences. It is the duty of Commissioner Arcuri - he adds - to identify structures that can be converted for production".

Furthermore, Di Maio said, "we will import 2 million masks from China and hundreds of lung fans". The minister announced it in an interview with Rainews24.

On the masks then a controversy broke out between Lombardy and Civil Protection . "We need masks of the type fpp2 or fpp3 or the surgical ones and instead they sent us a handkerchief, a sheet of toilet paper, from Scottex," said the Lombardy Region Councilor for Welfare Giulio Gallera .

"Lombardy has received almost 550 thousand masks in recent days, between ffp2 and ffp3 and surgical ones. Those 'montrasio', object of unjust and unpleasant criticism to Borrelli, are masks and not toilet paper: it is up to the individual regions to sort them according to the different ones I prefer to talk about the 113 intensive lung ventilators and the 103 subintensive, delivered or that will arrive in these hours ", replied the Minister for Autonomies, Francesco Boccia .

Masks are missing in some cases even among health professionals . The union of hospital doctors Anaao Assomed presented a complaint to the Labor Inspectorate and the Public Prosecutor's Office in which he complained "the persistent serious shortage of protective equipment", in particular masks. The aim of the initiative, the union explains, is to ensure that "the authorities supervise the protection of the health of health workers".
