Minister of Health Yaakov Litzman (Sunday) ordered the approval of hundreds of medical standards and specialists for the health system immediately. This is after a meeting with the chairman of the Medical Association against the background of the Corona virus.

At the meeting of Minister Litzman and the Chairman of the Medical Association, Prof. Zion Hagai, it was agreed that standards would be approved immediately for all doctors who have not yet been placed in the system, including interns and interns.

In summary, there will no longer be one doctor sitting at home because he has no standard. In doing so, one of the key requirements of the Israel Physicians' Association was met in recent years.

The Litzman decision came in addition to the decision to immediately increase medical lab activity, enabling hundreds of additional corona tests to be performed daily to meet the system's needs during the current crisis.

In addition, it was agreed at a meeting with the High Court of Justice that an examination will be made of a system of medical students already in their sixth year, along with other measures aimed at relieving the medical teams at the forefront of the Corona struggle.

Health Minister Litzman said: “The national effort to prevent the spread of the corona virus requires a systemic, medical and budgetary mobilization to provide the health system with the tools it needs during this emergency. I am pleased that the Medical Federation sees this with us eye to eye and together we will work for the citizens of Israel, the sick public and the dedicated doctors. ”

Prof. Hagai said: "Today, all over the world understand how important equitable and powerful public medicine is, and I applaud that understanding here as well. The health of us all depends on the strength of the medical staff and the strength of the system as a whole and today we are certainly taking an important step in the right direction. I would like to thank Minister Litzman for his full cooperation with the Medical Association. We will work together to fight the Corona virus that threatens the health of Israeli residents. "
