Not only in the days of Corona: An experiment in the UK yielded unequivocal results about the importance of proper hand washing
// This is what a hand looks like that urgently needs soap and water
So why is it so important to wash your hands many times, especially during the time of the Corona virus? The overwhelming answer to this is the British health organization Good Health, which has been conducting ultraviolet light photographs with hands-on disinfectant gel highlighting clean areas with glowing white bacteria.
The experimenter's hand was taken before washing and looked completely white. Below, several types of rinsing were performed to see how long the hand really needed to rub off the bacteria, viruses and dirt. As you can see in the pictures taken, a quick wash of hands under the tap made little difference to the amount of bacteria, viruses and dirt that the experimenter had on his hands. Washing your hands for six seconds looked better even when there was no soap on your hand, and with six seconds washing soap already looked much better.
Then a hand wash with soap was taken for 20 seconds, with the impressive result seen in the picture. The testers did not stop here, but also looked at the handwash for 30 seconds with soap, which managed to actually remove the material from each hand. So the next time you wash your hands on a tap, after coming home from the outside or meeting people, you should remember - just a good wash leaves you less exposed to bacteria and corona.
