The Ministry of Health launched (Sunday) the "Protector" - a national applet (national) to prevent the spread of the Corona virus.

The applet enables identification of contacts between verified patients and people who came in contact with them in the 14 days prior to diagnosis of the disease in the patient.

It is a technological tool designed to give each and every one of us the ability to know quickly and accurately whether we have been in contact with a person infected with the Corona virus. It will send an alert, which includes a precise location and time of exposure to a verified corona patient.

The Health Ministry announcement states that the applet keeps information about citizens' locations solely on their devices, and crosses this personal information with the Ministry of Health's updated epidemiological data. Ministry of Health data is constantly updated, and is sent unilaterally to the device for cross-purposes.

Crossing between the civilian route and the Corona patients route will be carried out on the device itself, and as long as there is a match between the civilians, a link will be sent to the Ministry of Health to let them know what steps to take, as well as to report to the Home Insulation Office

The "Protector" can be downloaded free of charge on the App Store and Google Play. The applet, developed in Israel for the Ministry of Health, is based on open source and mutual guarantee values.
