Completely surprisingly, Disney preferred to launch its own streaming service. Fans of "The Mandalorian" can look forward to. The price is also fixed.

  • Disney delayed the launch of Disney + by a week.
  • Fans can look forward to a lot of films and series.
  • The final price has also been fixed for a long time.

Amazon Prime Video and Netflix have long been facing a new competitor in the United States: Disney + . The new streaming service is not yet launched in Germany and other European countries. That will change at the end of March 2020.

Disney + starts in Germany on March 24th

So far, Disney wanted to offer its streaming service here on March 31. Disney + should now also be available in Germany on March 24th. The new start date also applies to Austria, Great Britain, France, Ireland, Italy, Spain and Switzerland.

However, this does not mean that you can only subscribe from this date, because that already works .

That's how much Disney + costs compared to Netflix and Amazon Prime

The media group has now confirmed the monthly price for Disney + . In Germany, the new streaming service will cost 6.99 euros. Netflix and Amazon Prime cost 7.99 euros a month in the cheapest package. Amazon Prime can be booked as an annual subscription for 69 euros. Then the monthly price of the streaming service corresponds to about 5.75 euros. Disney + will also offer a cheaper annual subscription. From March 24, this will cost 69.99 euros per year and corresponds to around 5.84 euros. If you take out an annual subscription before the start date, you pay less (see below).

But it is even cheaper, and in a very legal way *. For example, if you still fluctuate and therefore do not want to subscribe, you can try Disney + for free for seven days with a trial subscription . This option will of course only apply from March 24th - with another exception: You must have a Fire device on which you can use the streaming service.

If, on the other hand, you are already sure that you will use Disney + for at least one year, then you will also have a cheaper offer in this case. If you take out an annual subscription before March 24, you only pay 59.99 euros instead of 69.99 euros .

The cheapest option is expected by Telekom customers *. Anyone who uses MagentaMobil, MagentaZuhause and MagentaTV can access the streaming service free of charge for six months . After that, you only pay 5 euros for each additional month instead of the regular 6.99 euros. This offer also applies if you have already secured the early bird discount. In this case, your discounted year starts as soon as the Telekom tariff no longer applies.

Series and films at Disney +

The Disney group owns all kinds of licenses, brand owners and film studios. Accordingly, Disney + users can look forward to a lot of series and films *. The Disney repertoire naturally includes all films from Disney Studios , Pixar, Marvel and "Star Wars". The 20th Century Fox series are now also part of Disney - for example "The Simpsons". Accordingly, over 600 episodes of the series about the yellow family are available at the start of the streaming service.

The big highlight is definitely the new "Star Wars" series "The Mandalorian" *. The first episode appears on the day Disney + starts. Then the remaining episodes follow on a weekly basis. But if you don't want to wait that long, thanks to ProSieben you have the chance to get an impression of "The Mandalorian" a little earlier *. On March 22nd, the first episode will start on Free TV at 8:15 p.m.

Over time, subscribers will eventually see new Disney productions, including a "High School Musical" series and the remake of the classic "Susi and Strolch" .

Right from the start, the streaming service has a lot up its sleeve, such as countless cartoon classics and animated films. The offer ranges from the 30s fairy tale "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" to the "Toy Story" films from Pixar.

But if you're more action-packed, you can look forward to all "Star Wars" and several Marvel productions. The newest "Star Wars" hit "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalkers" will also be released on Disney + later this year.

And there is even more to see, because users can spend their film evenings with blockbusters such as "Avatar - Departure for Pandora" , the "Pirates of the Caribbean" or the "Chronicles of Narnia" series . With countless children's series such as "Ducktales" or "Die Gummibärenbande" , the offspring are also well looked after.

Also interesting: "The Mandalorian" without a Disney + subscription? Sky should make it possible.
