(ANSA) - MILAN, MARCH 28 - Diego, the driver of the 118 service at the Soreu in Bergamo who died on the night of March 13 strikes the Coronavirus, is the first 'fallen on the job' by Covid-19 recognized by Inail.
For this reason, his wife Marika and his son Alessio will receive an annuity allowance, just like any orphaned widow of a victim of work. The newspaper LaRepubblica reports it.
"The assignment of the annuity is possible using article 42 of the Cura Italia decree law," Inail Lombardia manager Alessandra Lanza explained to LaRepubblica.
The article provides, in fact, that those who are infected by Covid-19 on the job are entitled to compensation which can become an annuity in the event of death. The practice of the 46-year-old driver was started and "we have set aside the annuity", explained Lanza to the newspapers: Diego's mother and son should have the right to an annual annuity of about 20 thousand euros.
