(ANSA) - TOKYO, MARCH 28 - The Japanese government is preparing to launch an 'unprecedented' economic support maneuver to curb the impact of the spread of coronavirus, which includes the distribution of money to support consumer spending.
The Japanese premier Shinzo Abe said in a press conference broadcast live on television on the public channel NHK, explaining that the extent of the most daring stimulus plan ever adopted will be greater than that approved during the financial crisis of 2008 after the collapse of the LehmanBrothers. The premier added that the executive is ready to compile an additional budget to finance the maneuver and that the fight against the global pandemic will be prolonged over time, urging compatriots to remain vigilant against the onset of the virus in Japan. Therefore, currently only restrictive measures that could have led to the Tokyo's lockdown are excluded.
