Weather: the cold back on Sunday

2020-03-28T17:36:36.144Z

A mass of air from the North Pole will plunge temperatures across the country in the coming days. Snow will return

Spring will take a good slap these coming days with a return of winter temperatures that will settle until at least half of the week. For the rare outings authorized during confinement during a coronavirus epidemic, caps and gloves must therefore be brought out throughout the country.

While temperatures range between 15 to 19 ° C over a large part of the country this Saturday, they will plunge by almost 10 ° C on Sunday and will be on average 5 to 8 ° C below seasonal norms. An episode of cold that France has not experienced in this period since 2013. Under the effect of an air mass from Greenland, temperatures will drop even further from Monday to Wednesday. Snow will reappear in the south of the country at very low altitude and frosts will be frequent throughout most of the territory.

In the north of the country, the wind will pick up and sometimes blow in the plains up to 60 km / h in gusts. Snow will fall from 600 meters above sea level in Auvergne, 1500 meters in the Alps and 1400 m in the Pyrenees. It is not excluded that some flakes could reach the Occitanie plain in the Carcassonne and Albi sectors as well as the Southwest and Limousin plains.

Temperatures will drop as of Sunday
