(ANSA) - PARIS, MARCH 29 - Two French Coronavirus patients were evacuated today with an Airbus A400M of the German army from Strasbourg to a hospital in Ulm, in the south-west of Germany. This is the first evacuation of the French sick with German military means. The Minister for European Affairs, Amelie deMontchalin, announced this in France, speaking on the microphones of France Inter.
De Montchalin recalled that in recent days, 80 French have already been hospitalized in hospitals in Lusseburg, Germany and Switzerland, a fact for which President Emmanuel Macron, at a press conference on Thursday evening thanked the governments of these countries.
The minister welcomed the cooperation with Berlin, stressing that "Germany offers us extra beds" as well as providing France with respirators "also yesterday".
