(ANSA) - PANAMA CITY, MAR 29 - The Panama Canal Authority (ACP) has granted the Zaandam cruise ship, for two days at anchor off the coast of Panama, the authorization to cross the isthmus, which in a first of all it had been denied for the presence on board of several people infected by the coronavirus, of which 4 died.
During the day yesterday 401 tourists, negative results from a Covid-19 presence test, started to be transferred to Rotterdam, sent by the HollandAmerica Line company, owner of both ships. In a statement, the Panamanian Ministry of Health explained that the lifting of the transit ban "was adopted in compliance with the health regulations to provide humanitarian aid that allows Zaandam to continue its journey" to Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
