Two relatives of the Labor Party chairman, Amir Peretz, died in Morocco after being infected with the Corona virus. Ari Peretz, a well-known businessman in Morocco, and his mother Simone, became ill in Corona and after a battle with the disease passed away.

Amir Peretz said: "Last week, I received the bitter news that Ari, my family member - a 52-year-old and successful young man, was infected with the Corona virus and was hospitalized and taken to hospital in Casablanca."

Ari is the son of Emil (right), known as a math teacher, who became a talented and well-known businessman in Morocco and the entire Jewish community, and of Simon who was a teacher throughout her life at the Neve Shalom Jewish School and has educated many generations. Upon receiving the news, Peretz contacted Dr. Itzik Kreis, CEO of Tel Hashomer, who authored Dr. Yael Habib, who was in contact with the Casablanca Hospital and examined the standard of care.

Dr. Habib updated MK in Ari's condition getting the best treatment, but said his condition was critical. Despite the treatment he received, he passed away last Thursday.

Peretz said of the late Ari: "In the Jewish community they spoke of his contribution and assistance he gave to disadvantaged populations - Jews and Arabs.

Ari's younger brother, Jacob, has the humble funeral, which thousands of people watched through technological means due to the Corona days. At the same time, his father and mother were hospitalized, thus avoiding the bitter news. Yesterday, the news was received that his mother, Simon, had also died without knowing about the death of her son whom she would meet in high spirits. The father of the family, right, is still hospitalized.

MK Peretz added: "The plague-driven remoteness prevents other family members living in Paris from coming to Morocco and caring for family members and only Jacob remains there and he has to sit seven on his mother and brother while caring for his father. The virus does not distinguish between humans, race, origin, socio-economic status or nationality. The whole world is currently dealing with the same virus, which reminds us more than just how human beings are worth, and this lesson and this pandemic understanding will also leave it as a new compass for our lives.

Here, in Israel, we need to know that our Jewish brethren, who are a minority in the Diaspora, are treated in solidarity in their countries all over the world because humans know that mutual guarantee and solidarity is the only way to defeat this damn epidemic. May the memory of Ari and Simon Baruch and their soul be bundled into the bundle of life and we all pray that the rest of the family, headed by the father of the family, will heal and return safely to their home, ”he concluded.
