(ANSA) - ROME, MARCH 31 - In 1929 Berlin is a city in full swing. The Weimar Republic is weakening under the weight of inflation and speculation. The life of the city is divided in two: on the one hand rampant poverty, hunger, fear; on the other the pomp, the parties, the sex, the luxury, the culture that evolves.
The third season of Babylon Berlin debuts on April 1 (at 9.15 pm on Sky Atlantic and streaming on NOW TV), the SkyOriginal series set in Germany at the turn of the 20s and 30s, at twilight of the Weimar Republic.
We also find in the new episodes Volker Bruch and Liv LisaFries as detective Gereon Rath and Charlotte Ritter, who investigate a mysterious murder in a Berlin that lived in contradictions: gloomy and very rich, miserable and sparkling at the same time, the society of the German capital was the most advanced and progressive of the time, but was threatened by the first signs of a growing extremism and an economic crisis that would soon enter the history books.
