The advance of the redundancy fund by the banks to workers due to the Coronavirus emergency will be up to 1,400 euros: the convention signed by the ABI , the unions and the Ministry of Labor tonight states that "it has been taken into account of the maximum duration of the wage supplement, 9 weeks, currently defined by the "Cura Italia" Law Decree

The ABI invited the associated banks, in applying the Convention "to avoid costs for workers who will benefit from the advance in accordance with the aims and social value of the initiative".

The association, in a note, also asked that "the banks and all parties involved, in particular INPS , Regions and autonomous provinces that manage the social safety nets , to collaborate to ensure the most timely implementation of the agreement".

The advance payment of the redundancy allowance by the institutions that will join "will take place - it is written in the agreement - by opening credit in a specific current account, if requested by the Bank, for a total lump sum amounting to 1,400 euros, parameterized to 9 weeks of suspension at zero hours (proportionally reduced in case of shorter duration), to be re-proportioned in case of part-time employment ".

The ABI also agreed on simplified procedures for determining the amount of the advance payment of 1,400 euros for ordinary income supplementation and lay-off benefits in derogation of the agreement. The association underlines how "the maximum duration of the wage supplement, 9 weeks, defined at present by the Decree Law" Cura Italia "has been taken into account in consideration of the immediate needs of workers suspended from work" and to "make the measure operational in the as short as possible ".

The agreement also favors the management of "remote" practices, so as to limit access to the branch to indifferent needs , in line with what has been agreed between ABI and the banking union unions Fabi, First-Cisl, Fisac-Cgil, Uilca and Unisin lo last March 24.

For this reason, the ABI recommends that the workers concerned contact their bank by telephone so that it is not necessary to go to the bank to receive the amount on the current account.
