Visits to the doctor are often not possible in times of corona. Follow-up prescriptions or referrals can be sent to patients temporarily by post from April. You don't have to show your health card.
Bonn / Düsseldorf (dpa / tmn) - From April 1, insured persons who are legally insured can temporarily receive urgently needed certificates from their doctor without presenting their health card.
The consumer advice center of North Rhine-Westphalia draws attention to the corresponding coordination of the umbrella organization of statutory health insurance funds (GKV).
Practices can send their patients urgently needed follow-up prescriptions, follow-up orders and transfers by post by June 30, if contact with the patient is only possible via video or telephone.
Specifically, patients receive follow-up prescriptions for medicines, for the transportation of patients and remedies such as physiotherapy and home nursing - and referrals to other doctors.
The doctor can also prescribe aids according to the information of the GKV - however, visual and hearing aids are excluded.
The aim of the regulation is to ensure that patients do not have to come to the practice in person during the period when contact is blocked. The patient data is taken from the practices from the card index. The prerequisite is that the patient is being treated by the respective doctor.
