Rome, Pallotta: 'Transfer to Friedkin always possible'

The sale of Roma to the group headed by the Texan tycoon Dan Friedkin seemed one step in early March for a figure
close to 750 million euros. But the coronavirus pandemic put an end to the operation. The signatures on the preliminary purchase contracts were given for imminent in the United States, only the official press releases were awaited to then start the
procedures for final closing. Covid-19, on the other hand, blocked everything, even if the Giallorossi president James Pallotta, on the "LaRoma24" website, ensures that the deal "is always possible".

No break with Friedkin, in short, but it seems difficult to hypothesize in the future a closure of the deal at the same figures agreed before the health emergency (not to mention that the green light to build the stadium still remains pending) and you cannot then exclude a black smoke in case the parties should not reach a new agreement. According to a Cies study, if the season does not resume, the Roma squad would suffer a devaluation of 147 million in June (-27.2%), falling from a total of 540 to 393 million euros.

In the meantime, Rome has postponed the publication of the half-year financial report to 31 December 2019 at the end of April (which highlighted a liability of 87 million), since "the assumptions and forecasts reported in the report, to date, may not adequately reflect the real perspectives on the evolution of management and business continuity ".
