The pharmaceutical giant Teva will donate to the State of Israel two million tablets of the generic hydrochloroquine used to treat a variety of diseases including malaria and recently, according to a number of studies, it has also been shown to be effective against the corona virus.
Efforts are currently underway to fly the drugs to Israel. Teva has already donated millions of tablets last week through distributors with whom she works for hospitals all over the US. President Trump even admitted to nature yesterday (Monday) at his White House press conference.
Various authorities around the world are currently examining the use of the drug, most notably the US FDA, which yesterday approved a special emergency procedure for the use of the drug to treat Corona patients. In Israel, Teva's generic drug is not registered, but due to the complex and urgent circumstances, it has been granted immediate import approval from the Ministry of Health.

The company is now working with the government to import the drug as soon as possible when it is estimated that it is a week to ten days. Teva's donation will only be transferred to the Ministry of Health, and he will decide according to his professional judgment how and to whom he distributes the drug.
