In the middle of a separation, a surfer forced to live under the same roof as her spouse wonders if she can change her place of confi

Every day, Le Parisien is mobilized to answer your questions around the coronavirus. Today, we are looking at the question of Justine, who wonders if it is possible to change the place of confinement, in the case of a cohabitation a little complicated to live.

“I am currently in separation with my spouse. We no longer support each other. I would like to go back to my parents is it possible? Or do I have to wait for the containment to end? "

Confined since March 17, some French people like Justine can start to find the time long. And more particularly when the cohabitation becomes stormy. For now, the containment period has been extended until April 15 but it could still last a few weeks, the Prime Minister said.

To be effective, this measure should even continue for another four weeks, until the end of April, according to the Executive's Scientific Council.

As soon as it was set up, "the place of confinement must not change," the Interior Minister had already told the Parisian. The fact that the measure was initially planned for two weeks, and is subsequently extended, does not justify a change of place of containment.

"A compelling family motive"

However, in the case of Justine, "a travel waiver is possible in the event of compelling family reasons", tells us the Ministry of the Interior, adding that the person "can check this box on his certificate of departure". It is not a question of abusing or invoking this motive several times but indeed of using it to change once and for all of place of confinement, in case of real disagreement.

There are therefore special cases. Not feeling safe under the same roof as your spouse can also be considered as a reason for leaving. Likewise, visiting a vulnerable person can also constitute a “compelling family reason”.

Finally, other specific situations require, for example, to "reach your main residence", nuances the Ministry of the Interior. "End of rental, protection of vulnerable people or animals, childcare, etc.". Again, the person should not forget to check the corresponding box on their certificate.
