While the whole world was thinking about dealing with the raging virus, we decided to scan the various search engines and see if there were any changes in air fares for the summer months, and what we discovered there was very interesting: the prices are tens of percent lower than we were used to in the previous summer seasons. It is unclear if until August and September there will be a cure for Corona or if they will flatten the curve, but we are in any case fantasizing that we will be able to fly, and probably it will be cheap, very cheap.

A search conducted by search engines Skyscanner, Google Flights and Kayak indicates that direct flights to Thessaloniki, Greece, can only be booked for $ 90 in August. If you checked the same dates a few months ago, you would probably pay three to four times that price. A three-day jump in Athens (August 2-5) will cost you $ 100, while direct flights to Paphos (August 7-13) will cost you only $ 90.

If you want to get away for a bit, a round-trip flight to Berlin (August 4-8) will cost you $ 134. Direct flights to Budapest, back and forth (August 1-8) cost $ 101 today, and direct flights to Corona-stricken Madrid these days (August 3-11) will cost only $ 180.

The areas that are beginning to show signs of recovery, and are more likely to be outlined by August, are selling at very low prices compared to the previous summer seasons. Direct flights from El Al to Beijing, China (August 12-27) are priced at less than $ 500. If you want to fly to Hong Kong, you can book direct flights with El Al or Cathay Pacific for about $ 700 in August. Flights to Tokyo, Japan, can also be found for slightly more than $ 600 in August, though this is a hot and less recommended season for tourism in the country.

In addition, there is a very significant fall in prices as the civil year approaches. September fares are very low and fall gradually until November, during which time flights to New York can be found for $ 480 and London for less than $ 200.

At present, it is unclear whether the prices will go down or go up as the date approaches, but it is undoubtedly a very dramatic drop in flight prices, which are usually two to four times the prices currently offered by the various search engines.
