On this eighteenth day of confinement, the death toll of coronavirus victims is increasing in France while the daily update from the Directorate General of Health now includes data from the Ehpad. This Friday, there are therefore a total of 6,507 deaths since the start of the epidemic.
In detail, there are 588 new deaths in hospitals - 5091 in total - but also 1416 in accommodation facilities for the elderly.
To date, 27,432 people have also been hospitalized. Almost 1,200 additional people admitted in the last 24 hours. And more than 6,600 people are in intensive care. Or 641 new cases requiring admission in the past few hours.
Towards extended containment
The government's “Monsieur Coronavirus”, Jérôme Salomon, on the other hand, is delighted to count XXX healings throughout France.
Thursday evening, the Prime Minister also intervened himself to discuss the deconfinement tracks which, he warns, "is not for tomorrow morning". Edouard Philippe even hinted that it would probably go beyond the previously announced April 15, and that it would be progressive, perhaps "regionalized".
