(ANSA) - ROME, APRIL 4 - "The government of the United Arab Emirates has officially requested to postpone Expo2020 Dubai for a year, which was due to open on October 20. The proposed dates are October 1, 2021 - March 31, 2022". This was announced by PaoloGlisenti, Commissioner for Italian participation in ExpoDubai who adds: "Now the 160 member countries of the Bureauinternational des Expositions, the intergovernmental body that regulates the universal expositions, will have to pronounce with the duet of majority the postponement to 2021. Italy has already expressed its intention to vote in favor of this slip ".
Meanwhile, Italy continues its path towards the Universal Exposition. "The Italian project is going on - specifies Glisenti -: we are following the construction of the Pavilion paying the utmost attention to the health and safety of the workers on our construction site in Dubai".
