A complaint against X for "endangering the life of others" was filed by the family of a resident of Ehpad La Riviera, in Mougins (Alpes-Maritimes), where 29 people have died since March 20 . "An investigation is underway," said Fabienne Atzori, prosecutor of the Republic of Grasse, confirming information from the daily Nice-Matin.
In two weeks, "La Riviera", one of the four accommodation establishments for dependent elderly people in the commune of Mougins, near Cannes, recorded 29 deaths among some 110 residents, direct or indirect victims of Covid-19. Full screening of staff and residents has only just started.
"If I had my father or my mother in the establishment, the first thing that I would do would be to withdraw it", indicated Friday Richard Galy, mayor LR of Mougins. “I have been asking everyone to test for almost two weeks. […] It's something apocalyptic, a massacre, ”confided the elected official.
Requisition a hotel
The latter proposed to requisition a hotel for people still valid, a solution refused Friday during a meeting with the Regional Health Agency (ARS), the sub-prefecture of Grasse and the Korian group which manages this Ehpad.
On Saturday, the president of the Alpes-Maritimes department, Charles-Ange Ginésy, said in a press release that he had sent a letter to the Minister of Health Olivier Véran, enjoining him "to initiate screening of residents and staff without delay by means of serological tests ”.
He indicated that he had already requested systematic screening of residents at the ARS on March 24 and 26. "I was reminded of the procedure defined by your ministry, without, however, determined and preventive actions being taken [...] to halt the dramatic trajectory then emerging and which should deepen", writes Charles-Ange Ginésy.
