(ANSA) - MILAN, APRIL 4 - The intensive care hospital at the Fiera di Milano will leave on Monday with the first patients. It is still unknown how many exactly will be hospitalized (depends on requests from other hospitals that have no more places), up to 24 beds will be available. At the moment the staff is insufficient, among the collaborators of the Policlinico (who will manage the hospital) and the people hired through the regional calls and the Civil Protection. A total of approximately 500 doctors and 3,500 nurses have applied. A doctor and two nurses are provided for each bed. Not all 208 available beds will be opened immediately because the request for hospitalizations in intensive care in Lombardy is decreasing, and therefore we will evaluate on the basis of the patients' conditions how many beds they will make available.
