In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, an Indian couple could not resist the temptation to leave an indelible memory of this planetary crisis to their children by deciding to call two newborn twins, a boy and a girl, Covid and Corona.
The idea, reports Sky News quoting the Indian TV station NDTV, came to Preeti and Vinay Verma, a couple who live in the state of Chhattisgarh.
The twins were born on March 27, when the country was already in lockdown. "The birth took place after many difficulties and therefore my husband and I wanted to make the day memorable," said the 27-year-old mother of the children. "When the hospital staff started calling them Corona and Covid we decided to call them after the pandemic," he added.
