For the great-granddaughter of one of the icons of Italian female entrepreneurship, never as in this moment, wearing the role of a company captain is a difficult task. "My great-grandmother Luisa was an extraordinary woman, endowed with incredible strength - admits Nicoletta Spagnoli to the Made in Italy fashion group Luisa Spagnoli, who also bears the name of the creator of the Baci Perugina - but perhaps this time this invisible enemy would have put she is in trouble too ".
At the helm of the family business for almost 25 years, Nicoletta Spagnoli with all her staff is at work to make the various solutions of the post-health emergency concrete, caused by the worldwide spread of Coronavirus infections. "The scenarios envisaged are more than one and will be implemented according to how the situation will evolve - he explains -. At the moment we do not know how to predict the extent or nature of this evolution, we are trying to monitor it day by day". "The intention is to start again, as soon as we have the chance, with the production activities to ensure the progress of the winter collection, letting the rest of the staff work in smart working - he continues -. The opening of the shops will take place gradually, adopting measures to allow contingent entry: history has taught us that just as you go down quickly, just as quickly go up again, everything will depend on how long the emergency will last, and on the goodness of the initiatives taken by governments to minimize economic damage ".

Accustomed to having to face serious international issues cyclically due to the instability of the markets, economic uncertainties, the need to renew the collections, reacting quickly ('but I was not prepared for this, nobody was'), Nicoletta has no intention of giving in to pessimism. "Luisa Spagnoli has brilliantly passed a world war under the guidance of my grandfather Mario, I cannot be less - she says proudly - and even if the enemy this time launches invisible 'mines', I am sure that if we join forces we will be able to defeat ". At the first signs that the situation was about to explode, the Umbrian group did not even wait for government decrees and closed all stores, secured the company, opted where it was possible for smart working, suspended production. In these periods, sanitation is being carried out and safety devices are recovered to allow the return to work of the employees in full protection. And obviously there was solidarity with donations to the S. Maria della Misericordia hospital in Perugia while, on the initiative of his son Nicola, the historic logo that stands out on the company with the colors of the Italian flag was illuminated. "The emergency has also awakened patriotism and I hope that this feeling continues - he says -. I will never tire of saying that it is necessary to keep the spotlight on and enhance the Italian excellence, which everyone envies us". Just as it has become the brand it leads, which for over 90 years has conquered one generation after another 'for the great attention to the quality / price ratio, the couture details, the fine fabrics'. "History teaches that, after a crisis, the desire to live arises after a crisis and when everything is over, women will want color, joy, femininity and a little romance", is the hope and the wish of Nicoletta.
