Only in Lombardy I have to wear them, Tuscany is thinking about it (ANSA)

Only Lombardy has issued an ordinance that provides for the obligation to wear masks, or at least other face covers, in case you leave home. A decision due to the high level of contagion and which so far sees only the only other region in Tuscany that is preparing another ordinance to extend the masks. In other regions, especially those most affected by the coronavirus, the rules are less strict, but there are.

- VENETO: "I have nothing to complain about what Fontana has done. Lombardy also has a much more important contagion than ours, and has made the choice also starting from this aspect". So the governor Luca Zaia, commented on the decision of the mandatory masks which, unlike Lombardy, in Veneto are only for access to supermarkets and open and indoor markets. "We had a more gradual approach, with masks in supermarkets; we stopped at public places where you go shopping."

- FRIULI VENEZIA GIULIA: according to the order of the Governor Fedriga, the use of masks or in any case protections for the nose and mouth and gloves is mandatory only within markets and in commercial businesses for food goods. Fedriga explained that, "there is no obligation to wear a mask but just access with a scarf, scarf or even a neck cover".

- ALTO ADIGE: introduced the obligation to cover the nose and mouth in the event of meetings outside the family environment, especially in shops. This is provided for by an order from Governor Arno Kompatscher which acknowledges, among other things, the latest national decree. "Masks and neck warmers do not exclude an infection 100%, but they greatly reduce the risk of contagion. It is a civic duty."

- VALLE D'AOSTA: the use of the mask for customers is mandatory in commercial establishments. Store staff must also be protected. This was established by an order of the president of the region, Renzo Testolin, which also grants some exceptions to construction sites (maximum 5 workers employed) and introduces a ban on the holding of markets with the exception of those that guarantee a single access and exit gate and the surveillance of social distances.

- PIEDMONT: The Piedmont Region is also evaluating the obligation to wear a mask, but only for certain categories of people, more in contact with the public. It is this, as we learn, the orientation of the governor Alberto Cirio and of the Regional Crisis Unit, at work to integrate the ordinance in force. The current measures, in fact, do not foresee anything regarding individual safety devices.

- LIGURIA: "It seems extravagant to make an instrument mandatory that until a few hours ago was practically nowhere to be found," said the governor of Liguria Giovanni Toti. "As a Region, we are committed to distributing the masks free of charge to the entire population of Liguria and only after this has happened will we evaluate what to do".

- EMILIA ROMAGNA: The President Stefano Bonaccini does not express himself and at the moment there is no provision under study by the Region that obliges him to leave the house with his nose and mouth covered. However, for the future, individual behavior will have to change: the commissioner ad acta for the emergency in the region, Sergio Venturi hopes for Italy's own stocks because they risk serving for a long time.

- LAZIO: no obligation in the region, except as regards the indications given at national level by the Civil Protection and the Ministry of Health - CAMPANIA: The mandatory nature of the masks in Campania is under evaluation but is not currently considered the priority for the president De Luca. The regional machine is committed to completing the stocks of protective devices for all hospitals and healthcare facilities, in dialogue with the national structure led by Domenico Arcuri.

- SICILY: No decision on the obligatory or not of the masks for all has yet been taken by the Region. The experts of the Health Department are still evaluating the need for this measure, also on the basis of a possible differentiation between places where protection is absolutely necessary, such as healthcare facilities or places with the presence of numerous people such as supermarkets, or areas 'open.
