Jérôme Salomon took over this Tuesday on the communication from the authorities to draw up the latest assessment of the Covid-19 epidemic. At a press conference held on Tuesday evening, the Director General of Health said that 30,902 people had tested positive for coronavirus since the start of the pandemic.
30,000 patients are currently hospitalized in France, including 305 in the past 24 hours. This is the smallest number of new hospitalizations since containment was implemented in the country.
Among these hospitalized persons, 7131 are taken in intensive care, or 518 patients more in 24 hours. In the last 24 hours, 59 new patients have been admitted to the intensive care unit, taking account of discharges.
The number of deaths now stands at 7,094, 607 more in 24 hours, against 605 on Monday.
As for the Ehpad, they deplore 3,237 dead since March 1, or 820 more in 24 hours. But Jérôme Salomon wanted to weigh the importance of this figure, citing a delay in data entry.
