Paperwork, isolation, psycho-printing: Problems in care often pile up on an almost insurmountable mountain. Addressing that is not easy - but there are methods that can help.
Baierbrunn (dpa / tmn) - In the event of problems of all kinds, caring relatives can and should seek professional advice. However, some difficulties can be overcome on your own in a first step. The magazine "Seniors Guide" explains what such a self-help program could look like.
Step 1: write it down. With a pen and notepad, you write down every problem you suffer from. Important: everyone gets their own note.
Step 2: sort. Then you arrange the problems according to how stressful they are - the worst comes to the top of the stack.
Step 3: set goals. The problem becomes a concrete goal. So not just "I want to move more", but rather "I want to go round the block every day".
Step 4: find solutions. How can this concrete goal be achieved? Perhaps this can be done through day care, maybe through relatives help. And depending on the problem, it may even be enough to speak openly about it?
The final step is then to implement the solutions listed - or at least try. To overcome the inner bastard, you can keep the necessary steps in the calendar. For example, many find it difficult to ask relatives for help. A fixed date prevents eternal postponement.
