The United States recorded 1,514 new deaths from coronavirus on Sunday evening in 24 hours. A figure in decline for the second consecutive day, according to a daily count of Johns Hopkins University.
This American medical university, whose balance sheets refer, had identified 1920 new deaths on Saturday. As of Friday, the death toll was 2,108, a record since the United States was hit by the disease.
The United States is the country most affected by Covid-19 with more than 22,000 deaths and at least 555,000 confirmed cases. The country has thus become the epicenter of the epidemic, concentrating nearly 30% of the people infected with the coronavirus and enumerated in the world and 16% of the deaths.
The situation is particularly serious in New York State, epicenter of the disease with more than 9,000 deaths, including nearly 7,000 in New York City alone. "We do not see a significant drop, it is just a stabilization," nuanced Sunday the governor of the state, Andrew Cuomo.
