There are two types of designs in the game. These determine where they can be used anywhere. A distinction is made between normal designs  and professional designs .

Normal designs  can be used as paintings, pictures on the wall, floor design, island flag, tank top, face paint, mannequin, NookPhone case and for some furniture.

Professional designs can mainly be used as an ornament for garments. You can print your own creations on short-sleeved shirts, tank tops, sleeveless dresses, short-sleeved dresses, balloon dresses, round dresses, hoodies, sweaters, long-sleeved shirts, coats, robes, knitted hats, peaked caps and hats with brims.

With the professional designs, players have to take into account that they have to decide what it should be used for while designing. However, the category of your own designs can also be adjusted afterwards. However, if you receive a professional design from another player, you can only use it as what the creator specified.

There are three ways to get designs in Animal Crossing: New Horizons:

• Design your own designs
• Enter design codes in the tailoring
• Scan QR codes using an app

In order to use design codes , players need the tailoring and design exchange terminal *. As soon as these are activated, the designs of other players on your own island can be used at the terminal. This works via design IDs  or creator IDs . The terminal also allows you to upload your own designs and make them available to other players.

A focal point for design codes is Nooksisland. Numerous drafts from other players are collected there. Here you can find designs on almost every conceivable topic.

"Animal Crossing: New Horizons": This is how QR codes can be used

Another way to exchange designs is via NookLink using QR codes . To do this, players must first connect their Nintendo Switch console and smartphone to NookLink. On the console, this works through the main menu in the game. After pressing the minus button on the Joy-Cons, players must click on "Connect to NookLink" via the NookLink setting .

The Nintendo Switch online app  must be installed on the smartphone and selected under Game-Specific Services "Animal Crossing". The app and the game are then connected via "Connect NookLink".

As soon as the console and the smartphone are connected to NookLink, the design menu can be called up on the smartphone. With the camera, the QR codes can now be scanned and the designs saved.

In the game, the design app must then be opened via the NookPhone . After pressing the plus button on the Joy-Con, the download can be confirmed. A free memory slot must then be selected. However, professional designs are not available as QR codes.
