Also cool: At ICQ New , group chats with up to 25,000 people are possible, but the chat members cannot see each other's numbers, but only the user names. This is particularly useful when you are in a group chat with strangers. Which could well be with 25,000 people. You can also start surveys within the group without having to use an additional survey tool. Neither is possible with WhatsApp, for example.

Overall, ICQ New now looks much more modern and chic with a new logo - the flower now looks like a shamrock. For us old-established ICQ hardcore fans, innovations really don't matter. It is only important whether the ship's horn still sounds when the ICQ starts, messages are announced with "AH-OH" and whether Zoopaloola is still at the start! And the most important thing: Can you still write cool away messages like "Bin kurz afk" in your status ?!
ICQ New: Android users have to be patient
It is definitely time to find out. I will then rummage through old homework books from 2010 and see if my old ICQ number is not scribbled in somewhere . ICQ New is available for download in the web version as well as for Windows and iOS. Android users who want to have ICQ New still have to be patient: the old version of the ICQ app can still be found in the Play Store .
