Arsenal breaks the delay and takes the field, becoming the first Premier League club to resume training after the suspension of March 13 for the coronavirus emergency. Mikel Arteta's team has returned to work in compliance with safety conditions, such as maintaining distance, individual and separate work, with a maximum of five players in each of the 10 playing fields of the sports complex, and with sessions of training of up to one hour.
Brighton has also reopened its facilities to allow players to train. Arsenal wanted to get back to work before other clubs because, due to the fact that coach Arteta had tested positive for the virus, he was forced to remain still more than other teams, accumulating 47 days in total.
The so-called 'project restart', or the Premier's plan to get back into the game after the suspension of March 13th, will be implemented this week. The Times and the BBC released news that the Premier plans to resume June 8, to end in late July. Group workouts are expected to kick off on May 18. The clubs on Friday will discuss the different, possible options for returning to the pitch behind closed doors. The final decision, however, will be up to the UK government which, in turn, has started meetings with doctors and sports federations to address the issue. (HANDLE).
