(ANSA) - TRIESTE, APRIL 27 - The provincial emergency committee of Trieste has authorized the use of a hospital ship to host the elderly who have positive results who currently live in rest homes to avoid the spread of the virus inside promiscuous structures. The decision was made following the spread of the disease in large homes causing the death of some people. The ship will dock on Wednesday, as confirmed by the prefect Valerio Valenti, and about fifty elderly people will be transferred initially.
This is the Gnv Azzurra boat which is currently located in Naples. The berth has not yet been decided.
"The dislocation will be defined on Wednesday morning", explained Valenti at the end of the meeting which was attended by all the parties involved, including the Region, the Municipality, the Port Authority, the Health Authority, the Sea Border Police and the Fire Brigade.
