A motorist injured two policemen who were riding a motorcycle on Monday in Colombes (Hauts-de-Seine), by hitting them in circumstances that remain to be clarified, we learned from concordant sources. One was seriously injured in the head, the other in the legs and pelvis, according to the Nanterre prosecution. Both were hospitalized but their life prognosis is not in jeopardy.
The facts took place around 5:40 pm, during a joint road check by the national police and the national police on an avenue near the Yves-Dumanoir stadium, said the Nanterre prosecution.
The two bikers were at a standstill checking a vehicle when an oncoming "black BMW" moved to the left to strike them, also hitting a municipal police car which was behind them , said the prosecution.
Immediately arrested by the municipal police, the BMW driver indicated that his gesture was "voluntary", according to sources close to the file, and was placed in police custody.
He has no recent criminal record but was known for "facts of common law", according to the prosecution. His motivations "remain to be clarified," added this source.
The municipal police who were in the vehicle are "in shock", according to Mayor Nicole Gouéta, who visited the site.
