2020-04-27T15:47:41.218Z

The Turkish megalopolis was confined for 4 days, giving cetaceans time to reclaim the banks of the Bosphorus.

In Istanbul, containment makes people happy. Since the start of the Covid-19 epidemic, dolphins have been increasingly visible in Istanbul waters, attracted by the fish that join the Bosphorus. Cetaceans appear on the banks of the strait to the delight of onlookers who multiply the videos of their appearances.

The Turkish megalopolis was confined from Thursday and Sunday midnight. 16 million residents have been invited to stay at home. Fishermen and merchant ships have also deserted the strait, leaving the field open to dolphins roaming along the coasts.

Turkey is not spared from the Coronavirus pandemic. 110,000 people declared the disease and more than 2,800 people died.
