Berlin / Munich - Because of the Corona * crisis , Deutsche Bahn had reacted weeks ago . Customers who bought a long-distance ticket by March 13 for trips up to April 30 can use their ticket flexibly until June 30. But then the extension of the exit and travel restrictions was extended until May 3rd.
Corona virus: Deutsche Bahn extends goodwill regulation
Customers who had planned a train journey between April 30 and May 3 were excluded from the regulation - until now. Because the train, which had to stop several trains due to suspected coronavirus cases, has now reacted and adjusted its goodwill rule - in two respects. If you don't want to start your journey over the long weekend, you can now exchange your ticket for a voucher.
This applies to long-distance tickets with a travel date up to May 4th. These tickets must also have been purchased by March 13, the DB told the German Press Agency on request. The vouchers are available online and are valid for three years.
Corona: Goodwill and Super saver tickets are also affected by goodwill
As an alternative, the following applies to long-distance journeys after May 4: Customers who, according to Merkur.de *, have recently been put to the test due to a signal tower malfunction, can still use their tickets flexibly until October 31, previously this regulation only applied until June 30 . The good thing: saver price and super saver tickets are also affected by this goodwill regulation.
"Anyone who rethinks or postpones their travel plans has our full understanding," said the railways. Since the regulation of the contact blocks in the Corona * crisis in March, it has enabled the cancellation or flexible use of around five million trips.
