Bringing together 640 voices for a song ... This is the idea launched by the Radio France Masters and the Théâtre du Châtelet, in collaboration with France Musique to "stay connected with the public and virtually open to everyone" by this confinement period. The principle is simple, create a huge virtual choir by calling everyone to give voice to the cult tune of La Javanaise .

Both amateurs and professionals can take part in the challenge and hope to join this choir, called Le temps d'une chanson . You just have to send by email from Wednesday April 29 at 12 noon to Friday May 1 at midnight, a video of its sung version of La Javanaise to letempsdunechanson@radiofrance.com . Instructions as well as tutorials made by former students of the Maîtrise de Radio France are available online since Tuesday. They are available in four soprano, alto, tenor and bass voices to allow each range to sing the classic of Serge Gainsbourg.
Please note, only the first 640 videos that have complied with the specifications will be used to constitute the choir. The recordings will then be compiled to create a single version of La Javanaise . And to accompany them, Jane Birkin will be there, with her own video of her former partner's song.
The premiere of this rather special choir is scheduled for Saturday, May 9 at 6 p.m. on the websites and social networks of France Musique, the musical groups of Radio France and the Théâtre du Châtelet.
