Almost a decade ago, Kate Middleton and Prince William arrived at the altar. Today, on their 9th anniversary, the royal couple remembers their wedding day.

Last week, Prince William and Kate Middleton celebrated the birthday of Prince Louis, their youngest son, and now, the royal couple is partying again, as it has been almost a decade since they said "yes" in front of the altar.

"Today, nine years ago," can be read on the official Instagram account of Kensington Palace , along with a photo of the marriage, taken on April 29, 2011, outside Westminster Abbey, in London, where they celebrated their marriage.

"Thank you for all your loving messages on the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's wedding anniversary !" The message concludes.

The celebration of this anniversary, in the middle of a coronavirus pandemic, will be somewhat different for the dukes, who typically spend the day in private. Currently, the couple and their three children are confined to their country house, Anmer Hall, located in the town of Norfolk, in the United Kingdom.

The romance between Kate Middleton and Prince William began in 2003, when they were just young and studying at the University of St. Andrews, Scotland.

Although in 2007 they distanced themselves, a short time later they resumed their relationship and in 2011 they married to become the Dukes of Cambridge.

For the fabulous wedding, the bride wore a dress designed by Sarah Burton, creative director of the firm Alexander McQueen, and a Cartier tiara.

Middleton carried a bouquet of myrtle, lily of the valley, ivy, and hyacinth, and walked down a hallway that had eight 20-foot-tall trees at its edges.

For his part, the son of the late Princess Diana wore the red uniform corresponding to his highest military rank, that of Colonel of the Irish Guard.

The royal couple's wedding was a great event that was televised for the entire world. Naturally, William's brother Prince Harry as well as Kate's sister Pippa Middleton were in attendance at the celebration.

After the ceremony, the newlyweds toured the streets of London in a horse-drawn carriage. Then, their Royal Highnesses gave each other their first kisses as husband and wife, on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

The Queen Elizabeth II hosted the reception at that residence, and that same afternoon, Prince Charles hosted a private dinner for the couple.

Prince Charles and Lady Di's eldest son has always had a great connection with people. Recently, a photo in which William appears kissing Prince Louis melted with love to the networks. Similarly, the prince and Kate Middleton caused a sensation when they faced each other in a sailboat race, late last year.

Kate also has a lot of charisma and people like to know details of her private life, that's why, an unpublished photo in which Middleton showed not of his talents, caused a furore among the followers of royalty.

During her most recent tour of Pakistan, Kate Middleton wore the same hat as Princess Diana, her late mother-in-law. That fact made this visit have a deeper and more moving meaning for Prince William.

For an even more solid and lasting marriage, cheers! Congratulations on Kate and William!
