Corona crisis: hairdressers are allowed again tomorrow - but these restrictions now have to be accepted by customers 

Having your hair cut by a professional will soon be allowed again: hairdressers will be open again tomorrow (May 4th) - but these restrictions apply.

Berlin - It was certainly not the greatest imposition in the pandemic * - but that in the course of the corona measures * in Germany, the visit to the hairdresser was initially prohibited, drove many to despair. That should be over soon. A protection  standard (here the complete text as a PDF file) now regulates the requirements under which hairdressing salons may open from May . The mandatory measures include, among other things, wearing mouth-nose protection * for hairdressers and customers, according to the occupational safety standard published on Wednesday by the responsible professional association for health service and welfare care.

Visits to the hairdresser in the corona crisis: rules for eyelash coloring or shaving

According to this, services such as eyelash coloring , shaving or beard care are not allowed for the time being. Furthermore, a sufficient distance * between people should be ensured in companies - for example by limiting the number of jobs. After a temporary closure due to the corona pandemic, hairdressing salons may reopen from May 4th .

Corona measures: washing your hair is supposed to kill possible viruses

The central association of the German hairdressing trade is convinced of the effect of the new standard: "We are certain that the new occupational safety standard will guarantee safe hairdressing services in the pandemic," said Jörg Müller, managing director of the association, the dpa . For example, by prescribing the washing of every customer's hair , potential viruses * should be killed there.

According to Müller, it is just as important for security that customers should leave their contact details at the hairdressing salons. In this way, infection chains * could be traced. "Customers can only be served if they agree to the documentation," says the occupational safety standard. According to Müller, regulatory agencies and the professional association should then check whether the standard will also be met from May.
