Coronavirus in Argentina: 134 new cases are registered and there are already more than 5,000 infected

The Ministry of Health of the Nation reported this Tuesday another 4 deaths and 134 positive cases of coronavirus in Argentina in the last 24 hours, according to the evening report.

With these numbers, the total number of deceased reaches 264, while the total number of infections reaches 5,020.

Earlier, the Secretary of Access to Health, Carla Vizzotti , specified that the mortality rate of the virus in the national territory is 5.8 per million inhabitants and that the average age of the fatal victims is 75 years.

Meanwhile, the amount recovered from the disease has already reached 30% of the reported cases and less than 5% of the people who are still infected remain hospitalized in intensive care units.

As for the tests, 1,798 new samples were carried out yesterday and 69,718 diagnostic tests for this disease were carried out since the start of the outbreak, which is equivalent to 1,536.4 samples per million inhabitants.

The City and the province of Buenos Aires concentrate the majority of the victims and the infected of the country. In both jurisdictions, an early detection plan for vulnerable neighborhoods began to be implemented in the last few hours.

In the Buenos Aires area, testing began in the former Villa 31 of Retiro. The same procedure was carried out in the Buenos Aires municipality of Quilmes.
