The endless story of Alex Schwazer is enriched with a new chapter. From Lausanne comes a further setback in its march towards a return to the races, according to local media "the final slap". But the South Tyrolean remains convinced that the dream of the Olympic Games in Tokyo has not, however, waned, but only postponed. At this point, however, the only road left is that of absolution in Bolzano.

The Swiss Federal Court based in Lausanne "rejected" - so the Swiss press - the request to cancel the 8-year ban imposed on Schwazer in summer 2016 for testosterone positivity that emerged after a surprise check on January 1 of the same year . Alex's lawyers had turned to the Swiss court, which had however rejected a request for suspension, after Tas had in turn rejected the appeal.

"The last word has not been uttered - however Gerhard Brandstaetter, the lawyer of Alex Schwazer, makes it clear - The press articles are simply based on the reasons for the rejection of the precautionary application".

The Bolzano lawyer has been following Schwazer for years in the trials, just as Sandro Donati assists him on the athletic side. And he is convinced that at the end of this long 'march', Alex will be able to emerge victorious from the courtroom. Everything, as mentioned, depends on the outcome of the doping trial underway in Bolzano.

"We look forward to serious evidence that the criminal proceedings are underway," reiterates his attorney. So what's new from the Swiss Federal Court? "We will return to Lausanne with consolidated tests, which for the moment are only serious indications. We therefore await the expert report on June 30," concludes Brandstaetter. Except for postponements for the Covid emergency.
