On the eve of the presentation by Edouard Philippe of the details of the start of deconfinement during a press conference, France counts 278 new deaths linked to the coronavirus in 24 hours, announced the Directorate General of Health (DGS) in a communicated this Wednesday. Since the start of the epidemic, 25,809 people have died from Covid-19 in the country.
In detail, the DGS counts 16,237 deaths in hospitals (+ 177 in 24 hours) and 9,572 in medico-social establishments (+ 101), notably in nursing homes.
Almost no change for the deconfinement card
In intensive care units, the decline in the last three weeks continues with 283 fewer patients this Tuesday, according to the DGS, but 3,147 patients are still hospitalized in intensive care.
While waiting for Thursday's card which will only include two categories (red and green), the new temporary deconfinement card has one less department in orange, Sarthe, which turns green. "Faced with persistent hospital tensions, the Loir-et-Cher remains in" orange ", the Yonne in" red "and the territory of Belfort in" red "", adds the DGS.
The Directorate General of Health has also distributed, in detail, the two maps allowing the creation of the deconfinement map.
This first map assesses the circulation rate of the virus. If it is higher than 10%, the department is classified in red.
This second map, on the other hand, assesses the extent of hospital tension at the local level. In principle, it is enough for a department to be red in one of the two maps to be red on the final map.
