The aviation industry has undergone a significant change in recent months and the main emphasis is on cleanliness. At Hong Kong Airport, they decided to take this issue one step further and introduced a technology that could change the rules of the game - disinfecting passengers in 40 seconds.

How It Works? Each passenger enters a small compartment with negative pressure and for 40 seconds it undergoes an external disinfection of the entire body. This is currently an experiment in Hong Kong Airport, where disinfection is carried out all over the port, along with changing the anti-bacterial surfaces and preparing the eighth busiest airport in the world for the return of operations. The technology was developed by a company called “CLeanTech”.

Hong Kong airline Cathay Pacific and El Al are making regular flights direct from Israel to the small country bordering China. Currently, Hong Kong is one of the most strikingly spread of the virus, with only 1,041 infections registered in a country of about 7.5 million citizens, as of now there are only 100 active cases. The first cases of infection in Hong Kong were discovered in January, two months before the virus arrived in Israel, yet the country's numbers are among the lowest in the world. Other Asian countries that have successfully overcome the spread of the virus in a similar way are Taiwan with fewer than 100 active cases and South Korea with only a thousand active cases.

At the same time, airlines around the world are showing high creativity and awareness of hygiene. Air Canada, which is expected to fly to Israel as early as next month, presents a strict policy on air hygiene.

The main principles of the new Canadian company policy are heat measurement for passengers prior to boarding, passengers will wear masks for the duration of the flight, personal hygiene kits will be distributed to each passenger, no food contact will be served by the crew, passengers will not be seated in close seats unless family members and each aircraft are disinfected. After each flight of the company.

Air Canada is not the only company to disinfect its aircraft after each flight. The development of Israir together with Electra will allow the Israeli company to disinfect its aircraft after each flight in rapid operation which lasts about an hour. Israir is expected to sell the technology to other airlines.
