The Directorate General of Health still lists 2,961 patients hospitalized in intensive care for an infection with SARS-CoV-2.

While Edouard Philippe has announced the details of the deconfinement process from next Monday, France has counted 178 new deaths linked to the coronavirus in 24 hours, said the Directorate General of Health (DGS) in a press release on Thursday. Since the start of the epidemic, 25,987 people have died from Covid-19 in the country.

In detail, the DGS counts 16,386 deaths in hospitals and 9,601 deaths in social and medico-social establishments.

Four regions, Île-de-France, Hauts-de-France, Grand-Est and Bourgogne Franche-Comté, and Mayotte are in the “red” category, where the conditions for deconfinement will be more strict from 11 may.
