Kevin Spacey spoke for the first time about the sexual abuse accusations against him that led to the end of his career in 2017, and compared the consequences to the issue of health crisis in the world due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The actor, who was fired from his leading role in the famous series "House of Cards" after being accused of multiple sexual assaults against him, compared his current unemployment situation to that of millions of people in the world who face the job loss due to COVID-19 .
Spacey reappeared publicly after he was released from charges in October last year following the death of his accuser.
Through a video recorded from home for a German business conference called Bits & Pretzels , the actor talked about how the difficult times in the world are very similar to what he experienced previously.

The 60-year-old former Hollywood star described this period as bleak and painful, complaining about the radical change she had in her life in a matter of hours, after revealing the testimonies of dozens of men.
"I don't think it's a surprise to anyone to say that my world changed completely in 2017," the actor began explaining. "My job, many of my relationships, and my place in my own industry disappeared in a matter of hours," continued the protagonist of "American Beauty."
The actor acknowledged that the situations are very different but believes that the feeling is the same. "And while we may have found ourselves in similar situations, although for very different reasons, I still believe that some of the emotional struggles are very similar," he said.

Spacey referred to the global pandemic, with an interesting comparison, saying that he understood what it feels like to face a tough emotional period without prior notice of it. "I have empathy for what it feels like when they tell you that you can't go back to work, or that you can lose your job, in a situation that you have absolutely no control over," he said.
However, he confessed that he knows that his opinion causes controversy when comparing both circumstances.
"I often don't like to tell people that I can relate to their situation because I think it undermines the experience that they may be having, which is their own unique and very personal experience," said the histrion.
"But in this case, I feel like I can relate to what it feels like to have your world completely stopped," he added.

In his public comeback, Spacey made it clear that his world completely fell apart when faced with public accusations.
“When my career came to a complete halt, when I faced the uncertainty that I could never be hired again as an actor, I had to ask myself a question I have never asked myself before, which is, if I can't act, who am I? ", be sincere.

Last July, the sexual assault charges against the actor, which involved an 18-year-old boy, were dropped. In October, Spacey settled a sexual assault lawsuit brought against him by an anonymous masseuse who died in early 2019.
Another who spoke out against Spacey was Ari Behn , the ex-husband of Norwegian princess Martha Louise , alleging that the actor touched her genitals under a table at a Nobel Peace Prize concert in 2007. Behn took his life last year.
