US Drug Administration approved use of "Forsigge" drug for non-diabetic heart patients • "Important addition to existing tools"

For the first time, the US FDA has approved a diabetic drug that will be used by non-diabetic patients with heart failure.

The drug, "Forsig", is used in type 2 diabetics and has been able to reduce cardiovascular and hospital mortality by 26 percent, even in non-diabetic heart patients. It was approved by the US Food and Drug Administration for use in heart failure patients. 

"Foresiga" is the first drug of the type SGLT2 inhibitor, which has been shown to help non-diabetic heart patients. The results of the study, first published in Israel Today, were the basis for approval by the US Food and Drug Administration, and its treatment is also expected to be submitted to the drug basket hearings in Israel by the end of 2020. The study included 4,744 patients.
